This spacious Edwardian property was ripe for a reconfiguration. The new owners had the vision and were keen to turn it into a fabulous home for their young family.

The transformation started with the removal of a large second staircase which took up an unnecessary amount of space in a double-height bay window on one side of the property. By taking this out and knocking down and moving certain walls, this offered up an expansive area the depth of the house to create a stunning kitchen and pantry. An unused, light-filled morning room at one end of the house became a sophisticated adult sitting room and a cramped boot room-cum-utility was reconfigured to create a much-needed family coat room, laundry and guest loo. The living room was redesigned to complete the flow of the home, delivering a smart yet relaxed space for entertaining and for watching TV and chatting with the kids. A new oak framed porch was added and the hall, stairs and landings upgraded with authentic panelling, clever under-stairs storage and fabulous mural-esque wallpaper.
